Emergency Medical Services or EMS in short, is a branch of healthcare, public health and safety that responds to calls for help, 24/7. The mission of EMS is to reduce death and disability by providing quick and vital on scene care, treatment, and transport of patients in need of medical care.

BKP Ambulance District is a tax based Political Subdivision serving Pleasant Township as well as Buck, Kenton, Cessna, Lynn, Goshen, and Dudley Townships. It staffs 2 full time ambulances and employs over 20 public servants, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. BKP also hosts Continuing Education that is open for all EMS departments.

In 1974, it was decided that the formation of ambulance districts across Hardin County was needed. On December 10th, 1974, the Hardin County Funeral Directors ended ambulance service and 6 newly formed districts took over providing patient care to their respective territories. Almost 30 years later, on July 1st, 2003, BKP Ambulance District was formed after many months of discussions with Hardin County Commissioners. It became the first full time department in Hardin County.

BKP Ambulance District is dedicated to serving our community and its members and providing the best care possible.
